Huayhuash Trekking – 12 Days / 11 Nights
Day 1: Huaraz – Chiquian – Llamac
This first time after breakfast in the hotel the guide and the other personal will be go to pick up for you to the hotel, we will start the trip to the trekking Huayhuash around 7:00am. Approximately to the south side for Huaraz. Passing for the different district; Recuay, Ticapampa, Catac and Conococha at (4100m/13448ft). Then will travel to the east side and south East to Chiquian at (3400m/11152ft). Where you can to buy something, the travel take 2 hours then we have to down for about 1 hour and the go up to Llamac for about 1 hour more a long this travel we will observe the Mountains on the est side such as Ninashanca, Jirichanca, Yerupaja, etc. Arrive to Llamac around 12:00m where we will have a lunch, overnight camping at (3300m/10824ft).
Day 2: Llamac – Pocpa – trekking Cuartelhuain 4100m/13448ft
After breakfast in the Llamac we will start the trekking huayhuash at 8:00am we will go up for about 4 – 5 hours to the camp side Cuartelhuain , along this route we will passing the small called Pocpa and small mine arriving to the camp side around 1:00 – 2:00pm approximately. From here we will see the Ninashanca Mountain in the south side.Overnight camping at (4100m/13448ft).
Day 3: Cuartelhuain – Cacanan Pass (4700m/15416ft) – Mitucocha
This day after breakfast we will start our trekking Huayhuash at 8:00am from Cuartelhuain to the Cacanan pass at (4700m/15416ft) we will climb enjoy the nice views our around such as Chaupijanca and cunchush after this pass we will go down for about 2 hours half to the camp site from Mitucocha where we can enjoy the nice view of Ninashanca, Jirishanca and Rondoy mountains, overnight camping at (4200m/13776ft).
Day 4: Mitucocha – Carhuac Pass (4500m/14760ft) – Carhuacocha
This day after breakfast we will start our trekking Huayhuash at 8:00am to the south est go up for about 2 – 3 hours to Carhuac pass at (4500m/14760ft) where we can enjoy the nice Jirishanca mount in the south site tehn will be go to down for about 1 hour and half to Carhuacocha lake, Jirishanca, Yerupaja and Siula in the west site, overnight camping at (4250m/13940ft).
Day 5: Carhuacocha – Siula Pass (4850m/15908ft) – Huayhuash
After breakfast in the morning we will start our trekking Huayhuash at 8:00am we will go down for about 30 minutes near the Carhuacocha lake for about 4 hours after visit this lake we will continue go up to Siula pass (4850m/15908ft) for about 2 hours where we can see mountains such as: Jirishanca, Yerupaja, Siula and carnicero. After this we will do down to Huayhuash for about 2 hours half where we can see trapecio mount in the west side. Overnight camping at (4300m/14104ft).
Day 6: Huayhuash – Portachuelo Pass (4700m/15416ft) – Viconga
After breakfast in Huayhuash we will to start at 08:00am, after 1 hour climb up will be arriving to Portachuelo pass at (4700m/15416ft). Where we will enjoy the splendid views of Trapecio, Cuyoc and other mounts, after that we will start to descend to Viconga for about 4 hours approximately, lunch during the hike, after the client can go to the thermal waters of Viconga, overnight Camping at (4100m/13448ft).
Day 7: Viconga – Punta Cuyoc Pass (4900m/16072ft) – Elefantepampa
After breakfast in Viconga we will start climb up to Cuyoc pass at (4900m/16072ftG) the highest pass of the circuit, from here we can see the nice peaks of Puscanturpa, Cuyoc and Pumarinri glaciers. After to enjoy us will start descend to Elefantepampa for about 2 hours and half approximately, where we will enjoy the sun set of Cuyoc Mount, overnight camping at (4250m/13940ft).
Day 8: Elefantepampa – San Antonio Pass – Cutatambo (4400m)
After breakfast in Elefantepampa, we will start climb up to San Antonio Pass (4900m/16072ft) for about 2 hours approximately, from there we will have wonderful views like3 Siula Lake, Sarapo Lake, Jurau Lake, where English Climber Joe Sipson made a film “Touching the Void”, we will start to descent down the Sarapo Valley for about one hour, then we will set our camping in Sarapo Valley, then passengers will have lunch and then continue hiking to Visit these wonderful lakes, in the base of the Siula Mountain and others, in the Huayhuash mountain range, then in the afternoon will come back to our camping place, dinner and overnight in Cutatambo at (4400m/14432ft).
Day 9: Cutatambo – Rest day to visit Santa Rosa Lake and others
During the trekking Huayhuash, this day we will have rest day to visit other interesting lakes around the valley such as: Sarapo Lake, Jaurao Lake and Santa Rosa lake, after that we will come back to the camp for lunch and then enjoy the sunset and overnight camping.
Day 10: Cutatambo – Huayllapa – Huatiac (4400m / 14432ft)
After breakfast in the Camp Cutatambo, we will descent along Huayllapa river, after hiking down for about 4 hours half, we will get Huayllapa village, there we will find some small shops where we can buy soda drinks and bears, after to enjoy the charming of this small village, we will continue going up to the Huatiac camp site, arriving around 4pm, then you will have hot drinks as usual in each camp site we will have dinner and overnight in Huatiac.
Day 11: Huatiac – Yaucha Pass (4800m/15744ft) – Jahuacocha
After breakfast in the Camp we will start to climb up to Tapush Pass (4800m/15744ft) for about 3 hours, where we can see Diablo Mudo mount, after that we going up to Yaucha Pass at (4800m/15744ft) for about 2 hours, where we can see the nice mountains in the East side such as: Jirishanca, Ninashanca, Yerupaja and others; after that we continue going up to Jahuacocha for about 2 hours more, Overnight Camping at (4100m/13448ft).
Day 12: Jahuacocha – Llamac – Huaraz
After breakfast in Jahuacocha we will start hike for about 1 hour, then we will start going up to Pampallamac Pass (4300m/14104ft) for about 1 hour half, where we can enjoy the splendid views of nice mounts such as: Yerupaja, Ninashanca, Siula and Diablo Mudo, then we go down to Llamac for about 1 hour half, where our private transfer will be waiting for us to transfer to Huaraz. 3 hours travel from Llamac to Huaraz.
