Santa Cruz to Ulta Trekking – 6 Days / 5 Nights
Day 1: Huaraz – Cashapampa – Llamacorral (3800m/12464ft)
After the breakfast in the hotel we will take our private bus to the Callejón de Huaylas on the north side of Huaraz. We will travel through the districts of: Carhuas (2650m/8692ft), Yungay (2500m/8200ft), and Caraz City (2400m/7872ft). We will arrive around 10:00AM to our destination, Cashapampa. Our donkey driver will waiting for us to transport our camping equipment, and therefore make our backpacks very light. From the trailhead we will hike for 2.5 hours and then break for lunch. Another 5 – 6 hours of hiking will get us to our first camp the, Llamacorral (3800m/12464ft), around 4:00pm.
Day 2: Llamacorral – Alpamayo view point – Taullipampa (4200m/13776ft)
This day will be a full day hiking and breathtaking vistas. After the breakfast we will begin the two-hour hike that will take us to Ichiccocha Lake and Jatuncocha Lake. From here we continue for another two hours that takes us to the base camp of Alpamayo. From this vista we can see the mountains Alpamayo, Quitaraju, Artesonraju, Paron, and Aguja. Try to resist maxing your camera’s memory card at this location because there is much more to come. Two more hours of hiking will bring us to our second camp site, Taullipampa (4200m/13776ft).

Day 3: Taullipampa – Punta Union Pass (4750m/15580ft) – Cachinapampa
After breakfast we will start hiking at 8:00am. A four-hour hike will bring us to the Punta Union Pass (4750m/15580ft) where we will have lunch while enjoying the splendid scenery. Complete panorama views of glaciated mountains, blue skies, and unique landscapes will be our companion during this high altitude picnic. After lunch we descend for approximately three to four hours to our final camp, Cachinapampa (3800m/12464ft).
Day 4: Cachinapampa – Molinopampa (3600m/11808ft)
After the breakfast in the morning we will start go down to Colcabamba town for about 2 hours approximately, after arrive to Colcabamba we will walking for 1 hour more to get a good place camp to have lunch enjoying the nacie views of contrahierva mountains, etc, after that we will continue going up to place camp of Molinopampa, overnight camping at (3600m/11808ft).
Day 5: Molinopampa – Avalancha (4500m/14760ft)
After the breakfast in the morning in Molinopampa we will start at 8am approximately, after hike up 3 hours half we will have lunch enjoying the nice panoramic of Contrahierva mountain and wild animals, after that we will continue go going up to place camp Avalancha for about 1 hours half approximately, overnight at (4500m/14760ft).
Day 6: Avalancha – Yanayacu pass (4850m/15908ft) Ulta – Huaraz
After the breakfast in Avalancha camp site, we will start hiking up for about 2 hours to get to Yanayacu pass at (4850m/15908ft), there we will have a splendid views of nice mountains like Huscaran south, Chopicalqui, Ulta, Hualcan, after that we will start go down to Ulta valley for about 3 hours called Cruzepampa, where our transfer will be waiting for us to transfer to Huaraz, arriving to Huaraz around 2:00pm.
